1990-1991
Igor Danilov's first experiments on curing viruses are carried out (using AIDStest and other antivirus and debuggers).
The first anti-virus monitor based in Tadpole is created.
1991
Tadpole is being rewritten, becoming more flexible and versatile.
Tornado Antivirus (scanner) is created. Tornado was able to interact with the hard drive filesystem at a low level (BIOS) and deal with the new Ghost 1963 virus. It was characterized by a high scanning speed.
1992
Spider web with the spider protection (Tadpoles successor) and Doctor Web (Tornados successor). This moment became the starting point in the history of Dr.Web's development.
Igor Danilov took part in this year's "1 & 1" competition for Eastern European countries to find interesting software products and technologies. Your SpiderWeb has received a scholarship that gave its creator a position at CeBIT'93.
1993
Dr.Web at CeBIT'93 (Hanover, Germany).
The Scorpion Disk Inspector will be created. Like the tornado, Scorpion worked with a hard drive file system at the BIOS level, which could be used to detect hidden viruses.
The first polymorphic virus is created. The heuristic analyzer is implemented, which detects previously unknown viruses.
A processor emulator is implemented to handle and detect polymorphic viruses. Dr.Web Anti-Virus is one of the few in the world that is confronted with the famous Phantom-1 polymorphic virus.

The January issue of Virus Bulletin magazine presents the results of comparative tests for programs that can neutralize polymorphic viruses.
Virus Bulletin Magazine publishes its first review of Dr.Web Antivirus. The Dr.Web heuristic analyzer received the highest rating.

1998
Dr.Web 4.0 is published. It contained innovations that fundamentally changed the architecture and operations of the antivirus program.

The first comprehensive virus intrusion prevention system was created for Windows 95/98.
The SpIDer Guard Resident Monitor for Windows 95/98 has been added to the Dr.Web family.

The Dr.Web engine is licensed to the Chinese antivirus developer KingSoft.
2003
Igor Danilov founds Doctor Web and becomes its technical director.
2004
Dr.Web Enterprise Suite is started to protect the company network.
The Dr.Web engine is licensed to the South Korean developer of Virus Chaser.
2005
The free Dr.Web CureIt !, utility launches and is immediately the most popular and reliable emergency virus cure for other antivirus users.
The Technical Support Center in Ukraine opens.
2006
Doctor Web Central Asia is founded in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The office of Doctor Web Deutschland GmbH in Germany is opened.
2007
The first version of Dr.Web AV-Desk is published. From that moment, the era of Software as a Service (SaaS) is underway in the Russian antivirus industry. Service providers are now making Dr.Web Antivirus available to home users as part of a monthly subscription. Doctor Web is the first company to offer an antivirus program as a service in the Russian market and to this day remains the undisputed leader in this segment of the antivirus market.
The first Dr.Web antivirus program for mobile devices is started.
With viruses stopping Mobile devices are currently rare, Doctor Web makes the unprecedented decision to make the product available for free. The motto: "Protection against non-existent threats must be free". Doctor Web will stick to this principle with regard to all antivirus for mobile devices until 2012, when the number of threats to mobile platforms increases exponentially.
2008
Doctor Web France opens.
Doctor Web has announced that it will no longer participate in the UK Virus Bulletin benchmark tests because "they have little to do with assessing the skills that are really needed in the face of the current virus threats".
Dr.Web Office Shield device started. Like many Doctor Web products, it is ahead of its time. In 2012, four years later, Dr.Web Office Shield was named the leading innovation for SMB software by PC Magazine.
Dr.Web AV-Desk was recognized as one of the best security products by PC Magazine in 2007.
2009
Doctor Web publishes an antivirus for macOS. The amount of viruses for macOS was negligible simply because there were too few users to write viruses for Mac profitably. Doctor Web has invested in the development of this product and prides itself on its quality. It wasn't until April 2012, after Doctor Web found one of the thousands of Macs, that Apple released a utility that removes Backdoor.Flashback.39, thereby recognizing the existence of viruses for Macs.
2010
With Dr.Web AV-Desk, commercial users can be provided with the Dr.Web Antivirus service.
The internally developed firewall was integrated into Dr.Web products for private users.
Doctor Web Pacific opens its office in Japan.
2011
Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite achieves the certification required to deliver software to Gazprom.
Doctor Web Software Company (Tianjin), Ltd. opens in China.
2012
Doctor Web celebrates the twentieth anniversary of the development of the Dr.Web antivirus.

Dr.Web Anti-Spam filters up to 98% of malicious files that try to enter a system through email messages. Anti-Spam is only available with full protection as part of the Dr.Web Desktop Security Suite.
