The life of Cesare Casadei and the history of the footwear company of which he is today the creative director are so closely related that they can no longer be distinguished from each other. Cesare was born in 1962 by Quinto and Flora Casadei, two artisans who in 1958 founded the shoe factory Casadei, on the outskirts of Rimini. They produce sandals first for tourists and then for the national and international market. For Cesare there are no borders: the house, the factory, the leather warehouse have no walls, everything flows fluidly between prototypes, production, skilled craftsmen and expert hands in those small masterpieces that pass under the name of shoes. During his adolescence, his studies took him to Switzerland, where he was able to receive an international education. It was the seventies, a moment of revolution and innovation: travel, the desire for freedom and the desire to discover new horizons animate him more than anything else. The passion for family work calls him back to the company where, in the mid-eighties, he starts his own production with a team of 10 people. It is the hardest and most formative moment: work becomes a serious activity, relationships with suppliers become more articulated, shoe production is constantly growing. It starts from unisex, passes through sporty models and arrives at the most spectacular creations. Mistakes mix with successes, in a crescendo that increasingly defines the Casadei aesthetics, that is the possibility, indeed the need to experiment at 360 degrees with processes and raw materials never tried before. In 1990 the first showroom opens in Milan, in 1994 Cesare becomes the creative director of the brand. It is perhaps the most delicate and difficult step: in recent years, in fact, the fashion system is radically changing and the internationalization of the markets requires a new modus operandi. The great experience acquired in the production field combined with the direct relationship with suppliers and dealers allow Cesare to take the company to a new level, reaching a level of quality that is difficult to match. Today Cesare works closely with a consolidated stylistic team, relying on a production and artisan apparatus that is a small jewel of engineering and creativity as only Made in Italy can guarantee. Each shoe model is produced internally and most of the raw materials are made exclusively for the maison. What most characterizes the creative, however, is "that indescribable pleasure when I watch a woman wear one of our creations", always says Cesare. "In that moment, the magic of a shoe is really able to tell all the commitment and passion I have always spent on this beautiful job".

And how can we forget the polychrome décolleté with upper and heel completely embroidered with sequins from the Spring-Summer 1992 collection or suede with transparent plastic inserts and Plexiglas heel of the Autumn-Winter 2006-2007 one…

After the sandals, which have represented a prerogative of the maison from its origins and which were initially produced in record time for the ladies on holiday on the Adriatic Riviera, the platformers have arrived. Imported from Swinging London and become trendy with the unisex fashion of bell bottoms with bell bottoms, they inspired a wide range of models in the collections at the turn of the sixties and seventies. To then evolve into a plateau, taking on increasingly extraordinary aesthetic and technical prerogatives and becoming a recurring and increasingly refined element of the Casadei models. Together with the boot, the décolleté shoe enters the history of the maison in the early Eighties, becoming another symbolic product. Very light, it was created to always adapt with grace and sensitivity to the female foot. And, not only sexy, but also comfortable, it is made gradually with different heels, ever higher and more original, covered with rhinestones, French clothing fabrics, plastics or embroidery. Signed for over forty years by Oriana Morigi, the embroideries become real coral in the nineties. In the same years sportswear fashion left its first traces in a series of high-heeled models, which echo and rework the shape of sneakers and football shoes. The utmost attention to the exclusivity of the products has continued and continues to distinguish the Casadei shoes. Always embellished with details sumptuous decorations, such as ribbons and holes in colored leather or fur, Swarovski pavé, jewel broches, portholes, eyelets, metal tongues.
