The Canadian government has issued a new decree. eTA is a new entry requirement for visa-exempt travelers to Canada arriving in Canada by flight. Excluded from this measure are US citizens and travelers with a valid visa. The eTA authorization is electronically linked to the ETA applicant's passport details and is valid for five years or until the end of the passport's validity and must be obtained prior to departure from the Canadian Immigration Authorities website, Canda.ca/ eTA. The document is required at the time of departure. The eTA form has been available to visa-exempt travelers since August 1, 2015. Starting November 10th 2024, the eTA form is mandatory for visa-exempt travelers to Canada. To complete the form, passengers will need their passport, a valid credit card (cost is CA $ 7) and an email address; the authorization will be sent by email within a few minutes.
