OUR SPORTING HERITAGE

More than 46 years ago, Frank's friends in his squash club seemed to be always complaining about their squash shoes. So he set out on a journey to make great shoes for each sport. The squash shoe developed by Frank's HI-TEC brand in 1974 still makes it into today's sports collections and has, in the meantime, sold no less than 23 million pairs worldwide.

At the same time, he had developed great golf shoes for world-class golf stars like Ian Woosnam, Padraig Harrington, Tony Jacklin, Laura Davis etc. In his continuous quest to improve he came across the beautiful collection of Duca del Cosma and decided to acquire this brand which would provide golfers with state of the art styling and fit.

Duca del Cosma has been awarded countless prizes for new breakthrough designs. 'The Italian Golf Evolution' designs and the spikeless golf shoe with its non-slip outsole, which could be worn on the golf course but looked stylish off the course as well, proved to be a real winner.

Airplay XII Outsole

The Airplay XII is a recyclable, innovative outsole from Duca, with every detail carefully considered. The B-Light rubber outsole includes 2-way twist triangle nubs, both conical and cube-shaped, on the pivot point of the foot, to ensure a firm posture, with optimal grip, traction and stability.

Airplay IV Outsole

The Airplay IV is Duca's first fully recyclable and spikeless outsole, reinforcing our commitment to producing eco-friendly shoes. Functional nubs across the whole sole help generate progressive stability and optimal grip, along with a slightly elevated heel height to provide the perfect stance. All specifically engineered by Fioretti for an uncompromised fit, and lightweight cushioning that won't weigh you down.

OUR MATERIALS AND CONSTRUCTION

Leather

Duca del Cosma only processes high-quality calfskin and cowhide leather from Italy. For the exterior of our shoes, we only use the more resistant grain side of the leather. We treat our leather with a hydrophobic treatment directly after tanning to make it water-repellent without altering its natural characteristics.

Waterproof Shoe Membranes

A membrane is like a wall separating liquids and gas. Liquids can't enter, but vapor may escape, making our shoes waterproof while also being breathable.

For the interior finishing of Duca del Cosma shoes, we use a microfiber material with a membrane and waterproof tape sealing. We focus on testing waterproofness and functionality to ensure your feet remain constantly dry, while still being able to 'breathe'. The upper leather has been treated in regular intervals to ensure humidity runs off and does not soak in, so that it maintains its suppleness. We guarantee our shoes are waterproof under normal wearing circumstances and up to 1.75" on the shoe from the ground.
