Let the water go - pour the bag properly

Upon arrival, your plants are thirsty. Place the bag in your existing planter and water it thoroughly and penetratingly once at. Especially in summer on hot days, the plants need up to twice water in a very sunny location. Accordingly, please water less in partially shaded and shady spots. The weight test is an easy way to determine whether your bag is too dry or too wet. Lift the bag slightly on one side. Is this very easy to water urgently!

Are the Blumixx bags suitable for water storage boxes?

In principle, the bags are. However, care must be taken to water the bags thoroughly from above for the first 3-4 weeks, as the plants used must first form sufficient roots to get to the water below in the storage tank. The bag is water and air permeable so that the roots can get through the tissue.

Feeding the plants - this is how you fertilize properly

Now we come to the nutrient supply of your bags. In spring, autumn and winter the substrate is sufficiently fertilized so that no further addition of nutrients is necessary.

It is completely different in summer. Since the flowers and herbs live in your box for a long time during this time, they will need a little help from you to get enough food. Our substrate contains a slow release fertilizer that is influenced by the ambient temperature. In late summer you can re-fertilize with a liquid fertilizer.

Off to the beauty salon - care for your plants

Like humans, your plants also need some care. In summer, it is essential to constantly clean off dead flowers so that you can enjoy a long flower pile. This doesn't take much time. Often times, you can simply snap out flowers or carefully break them out. Herbs should be harvested regularly to keep the plants branching nicely, but that won't be a big problem. Fresh herbs for cooking are always needed.

In addition to flowers and herbs, we also have our evergreens on offer. You can trim these according to your taste so that they stay nice and compact. In winter, protect your evergreen bags with a little fir twigs or keep them a little protected. Please make sure that the evergreens are watered regularly on frost-free days even in winter, as they continue to evaporate water. But they don't like wet feet!
